Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that a second attack occurred on Tuesday afternoon local time, when an Israeli strike hit a displacement camp in the southern coastal town of Al-Mawasi. The strike killed at least 21 people, including 13 women, and injured at least 64 others, with 10 in critical condition. However, the Israeli military has denied targeting a humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi.

On May 22, Ireland, Norway, and Spain each announced plans to recognize a Palestinian state, and these decisions are now officially in effect. Norway’s foreign minister called this a “milestone in the relationship between Norway and Palestine.” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, in a televised address, stated that Spain is joining “more than 140 countries that already recognise Palestine,” emphasising that recognising a Palestinian state is essential for peace alongside Israel. The Irish government announced the recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state and plans to establish full diplomatic relations, including appointing an ambassador and opening an embassy in Ramallah. Slovenia’s Prime Minister Robert Golob said the government will consider a proposal this week to recognize Palestine and may forward it to the legislature for approval during a meeting on Thursday.
