เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจได้จับกุมผู้ต้องหารายที่สามในคดีการประท้วงของกลุ่ม Just Stop Oil ที่อนุสรณ์สถานสโตนเฮนจ์ เมื่อวันที่ 19 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2567 เวลาประมาณ 12:00 น. ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น ผู้ประท้วงได้พ่นผงสีส้มใส่โบราณสถานดังกล่าว ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ใกล้เมืองซอลส์บรี เขตวิลต์เชียร์

Third arrest after Stonehenge sprayed with powder paint
Police officers have apprehended the third suspect in the case of the Just Stop Oil protest at the Stonehenge monument, which occurred on June 19, 2024, at approximately 12:00 local time. The protesters sprayed orange powder on the ancient monument, located near Salisbury in Wiltshire.
The latest suspect, a 30-year-old man from Essex, was arrested by Metropolitan Police officers the following day on charges of aiding and abetting criminal damage, as well as aiding and abetting the unauthorized entry and damage to an ancient monument, along with aiding and abetting aggravated trespass. The suspect has been released on bail. Previously, two other suspects were arrested: a 70-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both of whom have also been released on bail.
Subsequently, English Heritage reported that specialists swiftly removed the orange powder from the stones, confirming that no visible damage was found from the powder. However, the removal process may result in erosion of the fragile stones and damage to lichens.
The Just Stop Oil group stated that the purpose of this action was to demand that the next UK government cease the drilling and burning of oil, gas, and coal by 2030.
