เมื่อคืนวันอังคารที่ผ่านมา จีนได้จับกุมเรือประมงของไต้หวันพร้อมลูกเรือ 5 คน ประกอบด้วยชาวไต้หวัน 2 คนและชาวอินโดนีเซีย 3 คน ในข้อหาทำการประมงผิดกฎหมายในเขตน่านน้ำของจีน
เจ้าหน้าที่ไต้หวันได้ยืนยันว่า เรือลำดังกล่าวถูกจับกุมในน่านน้ำของจีนจริง ห่างจากชายฝั่งประมาณ 5.1 กิโลเมตร และกำลังทำการประมงในช่วงที่จีนประกาศห้ามจับปลาในฤดูร้อน ระหว่างเดือนพฤษภาคมถึงสิงหาคม
โฆษกหน่วยยามฝั่งจีนกล่าวว่า เรือลำนี้ละเมิดกฎระเบียบการห้ามจับปลา ใช้เครื่องมือประมงผิดประเภท และสร้างความเสียหายต่อทรัพยากรประมงทางทะเล ทางการไต้หวันได้ขอให้จีนปล่อยตัวลูกเรือ ซึ่งขณะนี้ถูกกักตัวอยู่ที่ท่าเรือในจังหวัดฝูเจี้ยน
เหตุการณ์เช่นนี้เกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้งในช่องแคบไต้หวันที่มีการแย่งชิงอำนาจอธิปไตย โดยจีนอ้างสิทธิ์เหนือไต้หวันและช่องแคบดังกล่าว แม้ประเทศอื่นๆ จะไม่ยอมรับข้ออ้างนี้ก็ตาม นับตั้งแต่ปี 2546 จีนได้จับกุมเรือประมงของไต้หวันไปแล้ว 17 ลำ ในขณะที่ไต้หวันก็จับกุมเรือประมงของจีน 5 ลำในปีนี้เช่นกัน การกระทำดังกล่าวสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความตึงเครียดที่เพิ่มขึ้นระหว่างสองฝั่งช่องแคบไต้หวัน และอาจส่งผลต่อความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศในภูมิภาคนี้

China seizes Taiwan boat with crew for illegal fishing
On Tuesday night, Chinese authorities apprehended a Taiwanese fishing vessel along with its five crew members, consisting of two Taiwanese nationals and three Indonesian citizens, on charges of illegal fishing within Chinese territorial waters.
Taiwanese officials have confirmed that the vessel was indeed seized within Chinese waters, approximately 5.1 kilometers from the coast. The boat was operating during China’s annual summer fishing moratorium, which is in effect from May to August.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Coast Guard stated that the vessel violated fishing ban regulations, utilized inappropriate fishing equipment, and inflicted damage on marine fishery resources. Taiwanese authorities have requested that China release the crew, who are currently being held at a port in Fujian province.
Such incidents occur frequently in the contested Taiwan Strait, where sovereignty is disputed. China asserts its claim over Taiwan and the strait, although other nations do not recognize this claim. Since 2003, China has seized 17 Taiwanese fishing vessels, while Taiwan has detained five Chinese fishing boats this year alone. These actions reflect the escalating tensions across the Taiwan Strait and may have implications for international relations in the region.
