This summer, Italy is set to relaunch the “Espresso Riviera” night train service after its successful debut last year. The route has been extended from its previous terminus in Nice, France, to Marseille, offering travelers more options and destinations.
The train connects Italy and France, with key stops along the way including Genoa, Savona, Alassio, Imperia, Sanremo, and Ventimiglia on the Italian side, and Menton, Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Saint-Raphaël, Toulon, and Marseille in France. FS Treni Turistici Italiani stated that the service focuses on slow travel, allowing passengers to enjoy the scenic views of the Mediterranean coast at a relaxed pace. The train will operate on weekends from July 4 to August 30.
There are also plans to launch a connecting route from Milan to Genoa in the future to improve travel convenience between Italy and France.
