สหประชาชาติ (UN) รายงานเมื่อวันอังคารที่ 9 กรกฎาคม 2567 ว่ามีแนวโน้มสูงที่โรงพยาบาลศูนย์เด็กที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในยูเครนถูกโจมตีโดยตรงจากขีปนาวุธของรัสเซียเมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 2 ราย และบาดเจ็บ 16 ราย รวมถึงเด็กอีก 7 คน
แดเนียล เบลล์ หัวหน้าคณะผู้สังเกตการณ์ด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนของ UN ในยูเครน กล่าวว่า การวิเคราะห์ภาพวิดีโอและการประเมิน ณ จุดเกิดเหตุ บ่งชี้ว่าโรงพยาบาลเด็ก Okhmatdyt ในกรุงเคียฟ น่าจะถูกโจมตีโดยตรง มากกว่าได้รับความเสียหายจากอาวุธที่ถูกสกัดกั้นอื่น การโจมตีครั้งนี้ ส่งผลกระทบต่อหอผู้ป่วยหนัก ห้องผ่าตัด และแผนกมะเร็งวิทยา
ทางการยูเครนระบุว่า เป็นการโจมตีเป้าหมายโดยรัสเซีย อีกทั้งหน่วยงานความมั่นคงแห่งรัฐของยูเครน (SBU) พบหลักฐานชิ้นส่วนของขีปนาวุธพิสัยไกล Kh-101 ในที่เกิดเหตุ
อย่างไรก็ตาม รัสเซียปฏิเสธการโจมตีโรงพยาบาลดังกล่าวอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยอ้างว่าความเสียหายเกิดขึ้นจากขีปนาวุธต่อต้านอากาศยานของยูเครนเอง แต่ไม่มีหลักฐานสนับสนุนชิ้นอื่น

UN Cites “High Likelihood” of Russian Missile Strike on Ukraine’s Main Children’s Hospital
The United Nations (UN) reported on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, that there is a high likelihood that Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital was directly hit by a Russian missile on Monday, resulting in 2 fatalities and 16 injuries, including 7 children.
Danielle Bell, Head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, stated that analysis of video footage and on-site assessment indicate that the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv was likely struck directly, rather than damaged by an intercepted weapon system. The attack impacted the intensive care unit, operating theaters, and oncology department.
Ukrainian authorities characterized it as a targeted attack by Russia, with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) discovering evidence of Kh-101 long-range cruise missile fragments at the incident site.
However, Russia has consistently denied attacking the hospital, asserting without corroborating evidence that a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile caused the damage.
This incident occurred concurrently with Russian aerial assaults on targets across various Ukrainian cities, which commenced Monday morning, resulting in at least 43 fatalities in total. Simultaneously, NATO leaders were convening in Washington D.C., where the United States and NATO allies agreed to provide additional air defense systems to Ukraine.
U.S. President Joe Biden also affirmed plans to supply new air defense systems to Ukraine, stating, “The United States will ensure that when we export critical air defense interceptors, Ukraine will be at the forefront of this delivery.”
