Emergency services were dispatched to the estate, and after receiving medical attention on-site, she was transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for further tests, treatment, and observation. “The Princess Royal sustained minor injuries and a concussion following an incident at the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening,” the statement said on Monday. “Her Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.”
Buckingham Palace stated that the King “has been kept closely informed and joins the entire Royal Family in sending his fondest love and best wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.” Anne, an avid horse rider who competed in equestrian events at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, is recovering well in the hospital, according to a source on Monday.
