FBI Discloses Identity of Assailant in Attack on Former President Trump
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has revealed the identity of the gunman responsible for the shooting incident targeting former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The perpetrator has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
The incident transpired in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Crooks opened fire from the rooftop of a nearby building before being fatally neutralized by Secret Service agents. The attack resulted in one fatality and two critical injuries among rally attendees. Former President Trump sustained a minor injury to his ear.
Crooks was a 2022 graduate of Bethel Park High School and was registered as a Republican voter. The upcoming presidential election would have marked his first opportunity to cast a ballot.
Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a rigorous investigation into the matter. The FBI has issued an appeal to the public, requesting the submission of any pertinent information, photographs, or video footage related to the incident.
