ประเทศไทยได้รับข่าวดีจากเวทีระหว่างประเทศ เมื่อกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา (U.S. Department of State) ได้ประกาศปรับระดับคำเตือนด้านความปลอดภัยสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวชาวอเมริกันที่เดินทางมายังประเทศไทย ให้เป็น “Level 1” หรือระดับความเสี่ยงต่ำที่สุด จากทั้งหมด 4 ระดับ เมื่อวันที่ 9 มิถุนายนที่ผ่านมา โดยระบุว่า นักท่องเที่ยวควร “ใช้ความระมัดระวังตามปกติ” ซึ่งเป็นข้อแนะนำที่เทียบเท่ากับการเดินทางไปยังประเทศปลอดภัยอื่น ๆ ทั่วโลก

Thailand has received encouraging recognition on the international stage, as the U.S. Department of State officially downgraded its travel advisory for American tourists to “Level 1” — the lowest of four risk levels — on June 9. This means travelers are advised to “exercise normal precautions,” a designation on par with some of the world’s safest destinations.
Being classified as “Level 1” indicates that the U.S. government has found no unusual security threats or risks to American citizens in most parts of Thailand. The new status reflects Thailand’s image as a stable country with effective security measures, placing it alongside countries known for high safety standards, such as Iceland, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and South Korea.
However, the three southern border provinces — Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat — remain under a “Level 2” advisory, urging travelers to exercise increased caution due to sporadic unrest and occasional clashes between Thai security forces and armed groups. Importantly, this advisory does not affect Thailand’s major tourist destinations, which continue to be considered safe.
In comparison, “Level 4” countries — including Iraq, Myanmar, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan, and Syria — are currently deemed “Do Not Travel” zones due to ongoing violence, political instability, or serious security threats.
Going forward, Thailand’s overall security situation will remain under close watch by both domestic agencies and international partners, particularly during peak tourism seasons or major public events. If the country maintains its safety standards and continues to strengthen its risk response plans, it may soon be recognized as one of the safest and most desirable travel destinations in Asia.
