77TH CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL HAUTE HORLOGERIE EVENING A Night of Excellence celebrating Watchmaking Expertise and Métiers d’Art Craftsmanship

Cannes, May 16th, 2024 – On Thursday night at the Chopard Rooftop, Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele unveiled the Manufacture’s extensive expertise and techniques.

Chopard welcomed guests to the venue transformed into a Haute Horlogerie workshop for a masterclass on the theme of Craftsmanship. The entertaining event continued Chopard’s ’Meet our Artisans’ campaign, first launched in 2020 to bring to the fore the Artisans who use their centuries-old expertise to create the Maison’s timepieces.

Two of the Manufacture’s numerous Artisans travelled to La Croisette to reveal the ancestral skills of their art. Nathalie, a Master of Fleurisanne engraving at Chopard since 2004; and Christophe, an Enamelling Artisan since 2019, were then at the heart of this masterclass co-hosted by journalist and watchmaking expert Wei Koh.

During the evening, the guests discovered the making of a trilogy of timepieces on the theme of the rose – L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Rose, combining Grand Feu enamel and Fleurisanne engraving. Another marvel of technical innovation and pure horological aesthetics unveiled on the occasion was the L.U.C 1860 Flying Tourbillon, a 10-piece limited edition which features an elegant hand-guilloché dial in 18-carat yellow gold.

The evening continued with an intimate dinner attended by Jacky Ickx, Ambassador and longstanding Friend of Chopard. Chef Jean Imbert (from the Michelin-starred restaurant La Palme d’Or) treated guests to a Mediterranean menu notably featuring fish and citrus fruits. The dinner was enlivened by a musical performance from the jazz group Lizzy & the Gentlemen.
